Mountain Houseのある奈良県山辺郡山添村。
奈良県北東部に位置し、奈良市中心地からは車で40分。


40年前は6,000人であった山添村の人口は半減し、2024年現在は3,000人を切るという状況です。この地で同じく地域づくりの活動をされているNPO法人やまぞーえ様※が、関係人口を増やす宿泊施設をつくるためにクラウドファンディングを実施されています。

Yamazoe village where Mountain House is located

Mountain House is located in Yamazoe Village, Yamabe District, Nara Prefecture. It takes about 40 minutes by car from the center of Nara city. The population of Yamazoe Village, which was 6,000 people 40 years ago, has decreased, and as of 2024 it will be less than 3,000 people. NPO Yamazoe*, which is also working on the community development in this village, has started a crowdfunding to create accommodation facility that will increase the related population to the village.

村の「泊まるところ」問題

村内では大学生や地域住民を巻き込み、様々な地域活性の取り組みが行われています。しかし、取り組みを推進する上でネックとなっていることは、「泊まるところ」。

滞在できる場所がないことで、プロジェクトの進行スピードが遅くなったり、チーム間のモチベーションを維持するのが難しかったりしているようです。現在すでに着工中の施設は、「泊まる」だけではなく、「働く」「食べる」機能も備えたゲストハウスになるそうです。
村外からいらっしゃる方々の滞在頻度、滞在時間の増加につながり、みなさんの取り組みがさらに加速することが期待されます！


The problem of “where to stay” in the village

Various local projects are being carried out in the village, involving university students and local residents. However, the bottleneck in working on those projects is finding a place to stay. Not having a place to stay seems to be slowing down the progress of the projects and making it difficult to maintain motivation among the team.
The facility, which is currently under the construction, will be a guest house that will not only be a place to stay, but also a place to work and eat. We hope that this will lead to an increase in the frequency and length of stays for the visitors, and that their project will further accelerate.
